Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jake Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Nelson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pablo Escobar! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson slips under a jab from Escobar. Escobar tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nelson was well out of range. Poor timing from Escobar. Nelson connects with a body shot that sends Escobar's belly button to the back. Nelson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling Escobar to counter with a crisp jab. Escobar fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Escobar misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nelson.
Nelson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Escobar throws a right and a left that both miss. Nelson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Nelson dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. A short right hand to the side of the head by Nelson. Escobar is defending well against a takedown attempt. Nelson keeps control of Escobar as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Nelson wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Nelson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Escobar wants to get back to striking at distance but Nelson won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson prevents Escobar from breaking the clinch. Escobar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A left lands for Escobar. No luck with that takedown attempt from Nelson. Escobar misses with the combination.

and Nelson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Nelson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Escobar is looking to escape. Escobar avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nelson. Escobar looks like he's trying to stand up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Escobar is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Nelson scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Escobar is looking to escape. Escobar blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nelson. Escobar has hold of Nelson's hands but Nelson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Escobar wants to get back to his feet.
Nelson seems to be working for a kimura but Escobar defends the submission attempt. Nelson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Nelson prevents Escobar from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nelson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Nelson winds up and cracks Escobar with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Nelson misses with a head shot. Escobar uses the momentum to regain guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson stands and throws Escobar's legs to the side, diving into side control. Nelson working the head with strikes. Nelson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Escobar sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Escobar is not in a great position here, taking some shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nelson grinds an elbow into Escobar's temple. Escobar is trying to get back to his feet. Nelson trying to control the position but Escobar is working away. Nelson lands a decent elbow from side control. Escobar wants to get back to his feet but Nelson drags him back down.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Escobar taking punishment in the form of punches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nelson in side control, throwing shots but Escobar defends. Escobar is trying to get back to his feet. Nelson swings around for an armbar but Escobar sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nelson's guard. Nelson tries to land a sweep but no joy. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Nelson holds on and takes a little breather. Escobar wants to stand but Nelson is controlling his posture from full guard. Nelson is pulling down on Escobar's head to control his posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Jake Nelson has been cut. Pablo Escobar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nelson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Nelson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Escobar's head. Nelson prevents Escobar from standing back up.
Nelson is trying to control. Escobar wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Nelson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Escobar defending well though. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nelson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Nelson scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Escobar keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Nelson wants to take a breather but Escobar is having none of it. Nelson is just content to waste time from the top position. Escobar takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Nelson with a flurry of punches that miss. Nelson stops Escobar from standing up. Escobar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Escobar wants to stand and escape but Nelson is having none of it. Nelson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Nelson scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson trying to control the position from guard on top but Escobar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nelson passes into half guard. Nelson is trying to control the action in half guard but Escobar is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Nelson working Escobar over with strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nelson thows a huge punch but Escobar dodges it nicely.

Nelson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Escobar keeping full guard, as Nelson tries to pass. Escobar wants to stand but Nelson is controlling the position. Nelson is looking to work some ground and pound but Escobar has wrist control. Escobar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Nelson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Escobar uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Nelson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Escobar regains guard immediately. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nelson throws a big elbow that misses. Nelson throws an elbow that misses. Escobar uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nelson's guard. Nice move by Escobar! Nelson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Nelson won't let Escobar get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. BOOM! Nelson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Nelson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Nelson dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Jake Nelson's cut. That's time! Nelson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nelson drives through with a takedown into Escobar's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Escobar is rocked! Jake Nelson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Nelson loads up on a big left hand. Escobar felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Nelson looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Escobar can't hide his disappointment, as Nelson celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Nelson! Jake Nelson retains his bantamweight title! Jake Nelson bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
