Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metzger moves to clinch but Rockstar breaks away

and Rockstar counters with a single leg into guard. Metzger didn't expect that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Metzger looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Rockstar engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Rockstar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Let's hope that Rockstar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Franco Rockstar wasn't active enough on the ground.
Metzger doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Rockstar counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Rockstar frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Rockstar has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Metzger's face.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Metzger gets caught napping as Rockstar dives in and scores a takedown. Metzger manages to retain guard.
Metzger might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rockstar throws a nice looking combination but Metzger bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rockstar throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Metzger tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rockstar is in Metzger's guard.

Rockstar thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Metzger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rockstar wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Franco Rockstar hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Rockstar swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Metzger has his takedown stuffed

and Rockstar counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rockstar stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Metzger to get to his feet.
Metzger moves in looking to clinch but Rockstar pushes him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Franco Rockstar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Metzger gets tackled into the cage by Rockstar. Rockstar maintains the clinch.

Rockstar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brian Metzger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Metzger is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Rockstar has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Metzger is trying to keep an underhook but Rockstar manages to get the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Metzger manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Metzger has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Rockstar has passed into side control.

Rockstar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rockstar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Metzger is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rockstar's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Franco Rockstar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rockstar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
