Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Ericsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erick Carbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shawn Ericsen has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shawn Ericsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Erick Carbo! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carbo tries to clinch but Ericsen moves out of range. Ericsen moves into range and clinches up with Carbo. Ericsen taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Carbo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ericsen has him pressed against the cage. Ericsen manages to break the clinch.
Carbo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ericsen shoots for a takedown but Carbo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Carbo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ericsen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Carbo misses with a series of wild punches.
Carbo swings for the body but Ericsen moves out of range.
No joy there for Carbo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Carbo stuffs the takedown attempt from Ericsen. Ericsen gets slowly back to his feet. Ericsen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ericsen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Carbo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Ericsen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Ericsen stands and steps away. Carbo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carbo is trying to break the clinch but Ericsen has him pressed against the cage. Carbo prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shawn Ericsen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ericsen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Carbo tries to clinch but Ericsen moves out of range. Erick Carbo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Some wild striking there from Ericsen.
Ericsen closes the distance and clinches. Ericsen jumps into guard, dragging Carbo to the mat.
Ericsen pulls Carbo in close to prevent any damage. Ericsen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carbo is one step ahead there. Ericsen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shawn Ericsen has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Ericsen shoots in and gets a takedown into Carbo's guard. Carbo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ericsen passes easily into side control. Nice work. Carbo trying to remain calm as Ericsen controls from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ericsen is putting a hurting on Carbo here, landing some big shots from side control. Ericsen happy to just control the position for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ericsen scores with a couple of short elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shawn Ericsen dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Carbo displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Ericsen swats away the attempt to clinch by Carbo. Carbo feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ericsen's calf. Excellent takedown into side control there by Ericsen. Ericsen scores with a couple of short elbows. Carbo takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Ericsen lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Carbo down.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ericsen has hold of Carbo's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Carbo tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Ericsen cranks the arm and Carbo screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Carbo, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Shawn Ericsen!
