Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Colon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davun Davun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Colon comes to the cage accompanied by let the bodies hit the floor. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roberto Colon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Davun Davun!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Colon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Davun to the mat! Davun manages to get full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Colon trying to stand up but can't free himself from Davun's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Colon wants to get up but he can't break Davun's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Colon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Colon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Davun keeping moving, preventing Colon from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davun looks gassed!
Davun is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Colon is trying to stand back up but Davun is controlling him

Colon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Davun throwing shots but Colon is blocking nicely.

Colon is trying to maintain the position but Davun is very close to passing his half guard.
Colon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Davun is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Davun cracks Colon with a solid left hand.
Colon is trying to control the position but Davun postures up.

Davun throws a strike but Colon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Colon wants to control but Davun is keeping him busy.
Colon is pressing down on Davun's thigh, looking to free his foot. Davun is holding on for now.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davun can do anything to dispel that myth.

Colon is trying to control the action in half guard but Davun is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Colon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Davun is looking for a sweep. Colon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Colon uses his free foot to push down on Davun's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Davun.
Colon controlling the pace for now.

That's time! Colon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Colon takes the fight into the clinch.

Colon pulls guard.
Davun trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Colon looking to control.
Colon lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Davun is breathing heavily.
Davun wants to pass the guard but Colon is keeping the position.
Colon wants to get back to his feet but Davun is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Colon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Colon looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Davun tries to free his leg and advance position but Colon is retaining full guard.
Davun keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Colon's head.

Colon is looking for a triangle but Davun pushes his legs off easily.

Davun stopping the sweep attempt from Colon.

Colon has his foot on Davun's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davun works his way back into a safe position though.

Colon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davun doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davun manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Davun lands a couple of elbows.

Colon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Colon working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Davun.
Davun scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Davun postures up in Colon's guard and throws a big left but Colon blocks it.
Colon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Davun throws a strike but Colon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Colon won't allow Davun to sweep him here.
Colon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Colon is looking to stand up but Davun won't let him.

Davun is looking for a triangle but Colon pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roberto Colon dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


A slapping leg kick lands for Colon.
Colon thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Davun if he has to take too many more of those.

Colon scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Davun has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Davun tries to buck Colon off but Colon is having none of it.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Colon is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Davun looks calm but he's in trouble here. Colon gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Davun is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Colon lets go of the hold and Davun can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Roberto Colon!
A less than humble Roberto Colon misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
