Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eli Gabriel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pat Pong! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pong throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Pong chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Gabriel fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Pat Pong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pong throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gabriel's head. Pong knocks Gabriel to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?
Gabriel is rocked!
It looks like Eli Gabriel has been cut. Gabriel is looking for a sweep. Oh Gabriel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Gabriel is working hard here to advance position. Gabriel seems to have got his legs back now. Gabriel gets back to half guard. Gabriel is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Pong pulls his head out easily. Pong wants to free his trapped foot but Gabriel is holding on for dear life with his legs. Gabriel tries to get to full guard but Pong has control of the leg. Gabriel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Pong wants to take a breather but Gabriel is having none of it. Gabriel looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Gabriel is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gabriel tries to roll over but Pong keeps him under control. Pong is keen to just control but Gabriel is a slippery customer. Gabriel looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pong lands a jab to the nose. Gabriel is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Pong. Pong moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Gabriel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gabriel showed some decent athleticism there. Gabriel wants to work for an arm triangle but Pong is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gabriel looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gabriel seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Pong is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
