11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Mullen! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A lazy body kick from Mullen and Diaz counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Mullen is lucky that one didn't land flush. Diaz takes a head kick and keeps coming.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mullen using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Diaz has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Mullen throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Diaz blocks it with crossed arms. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Mullen dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Diaz throws a body kick that misses. Mullen gets off balance looking for a body kick and Diaz counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Diaz pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Mullen back to the ropes. Diaz follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Steve Mullen has been cut. Mullen looks to throw a body kick and Diaz counters with an inside leg kick. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Diaz, right into the meat.

Diaz throws a series of punches but Mullen moves out of range. Diaz scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Mullen throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Mullen is looking to clinch but Diaz is avoiding it.

Mullen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Diaz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
