The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
King scores with a one two! Gerrard had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
King circles away from the clinch attempt.
King misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
King throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gerrard on the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
King stuffs the takedown attempt from Gerrard. Gerrard gets slowly back to his feet.
Gerrard moves forwards but King connects with a nice, crisp jab.
King scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Gerrard gets a clinch.
King has had enough of the clinch but Gerrard keeps him there for the moment.

Gerrard prevents King from breaking the clinch.
Gerrard is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
King has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Gerrard lands a knee to the body.
King's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
King throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gerrard tries to clinch but King is having none of it.
Gerrard thumps King with a low kick.

King is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Knockout King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

King lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Gerrard goes down and covers up as King starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
