Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilbert Schilt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steele comes into the arena with Freak On A Leash blaring out of the sound system. Schilt has chosen The Who - Baba O'Riley as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Steele!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gilbert Schilt!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steele fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Schilt manages to avoid it.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Steele, right into the meat.
Steele keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Steele tried to score with a low kick but Schilt checks it.
Schilt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Steele dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Schilt. That did some damage!
Steele misses with a right hand
and Schilt counters with a nice body kick.
Steele lands a nice shot that snaps Schilt's head back.
Steele darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Schilt connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.


It looks like George Steele has been cut.
Steele changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Schilt defending well as Steele loads up on a big left hand.

Steele moves out of range of the strikes.

and Schilt counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Schilt moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Steele misses with a right hand
and Schilt counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Steele scores with a jab. Schilt acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Schilt digs a good body shot into Steele's ribs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Schilt ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Steele tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schilt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Some wild striking there from Steele.
Steele throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Schilt moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Steele tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Schilt attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Schilt is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Steele throws a one two combo.
Schilt blocks a head kick by Steele.
Steele throws a poor cross that misses
and Schilt counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Schilt swings widly with a right hand
and Steele counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Steele throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Schilt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Schilt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nice body kick from Schilt.
Schilt thuds his shin into the meat of Steele's side.

Steele lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Schilt has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Steele avoids a kick to the body.

Steele closes the distance and clinches.
Steele misses with a short punch on the inside.
Schilt is trying to push Steele away but Steele has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Steele lands an elbow inside that Schilt shrugs off.


It looks like Gilbert Schilt has been cut.
Schilt managing to block the knees to the body from Steele.
A head punch on the inside from Steele fails to land.
Steele misses with a hook from the clinch.
Schilt wants to break free but Steele has control.
A nice right hand lands inside from Steele.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Steele lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Schilt breaks from the clinch.
Schilt takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Schilt misses with a body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Steele dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Schilt throws a right and a left that both miss.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Schilt.
Steele bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Steele fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jab, jab by Steele - just one landing.
Schilt shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Steele throws a shot to the body.
Schilt keeps the fight on the outside.

Steele gets caught flat footed, as Schilt shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Steele has his hands on Schilt's head, controlling the position.
Steele is trying to keep Schilt in close.
Steele wants to sweep here but Schilt controlling him for the moment.
Steele looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Steele might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because George Steele wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Good leg kick by Steele there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Schilt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Steele.
George Steele is winning the standup battle so far.
Schilt tries a head kick but it misses.

George Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steele blocks a leg kick.
Steele jabs Schilt right on the nose. Schilt blinks but takes it well.

Steele darts in and clinches Schilt up against the cage.
Schilt tries a body shot but Steele blocks it.
Schilt tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Steele throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schilt blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Schilt wants to break free but Steele has control.
Steele goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Steele lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Steele lands a shoulder strike.

Steele tries to throw a body punch but Schilt avoids it by throwing Steele back against the cage.
Steele is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Schilt is breathing heavily.
Schilt misses with a hook to the ribs.
Steele lands a left hand that snaps the head of Schilt backwards.
Steele stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Schilt misses with a punch on the inside.
Schilt's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Schilt is trying to break the clinch but Steele is controlling him.
Steele lands a body shot.
Steele connects with a knee to the head.


Schilt is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Steele swings wildly with an uppercut but Schilt uses good head movement to avoid it.
Schilt is still on wobbly legs! Can Steele finish him?
Steele lands a body shot in the clinch.
Steele misses with a hook from the clinch.
Steele throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Schilts head.
Steele has a couple of punches blocked by Schilt.
Steele misses with a short punch on the inside.
Steele tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Clinched against the cage, Steele lands a big elbow that drops Schilt! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Schilt is complaining that he's OK but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). George Steele!
A relieved looking George Steele thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
