Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Layin Prayin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Chalas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luis Chalas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Layin Prayin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luis Chalas! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Prayin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Prayin takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Prayin is looking to land body kicks. Chalas with a poor takedown and Prayin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Chalas's guard now. Chalas throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chalas keeping full guard, as Prayin tries to pass. Prayin trying to control but Chalas is working from the bottom. Prayin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Chalas wants to get back to his feet but Prayin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chalas manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Prayin tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Prayin sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Chalas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Chalas seems to be working for a kimura but Prayin defends the submission attempt. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chalas in particular looking to stall. Chalas passes to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chalas trying to control the position but Prayin is working away. Chalas stands up and beckons Prayin to his feet. Prayin clinches with his opponent.
Prayin lands on the inside with an uppercut. Chalas fails to pull guard.
Prayin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A swing and a miss from Prayin. Chalas avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Prayin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Chalas fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Chalas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Prayin sprawls well. Prayin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chalas gets slowly back to his feet. Layin Prayin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luis Chalas. Chalas fails with a takedown attempt. Prayin misses with a right hand enabling Chalas to counter with a crisp jab. Prayin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chalas tries to avoid it but Prayin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chalas to the ground. Chalas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Chalas fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Prayin to the ground. Chalas is now in Prayin's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Prayin controls Chalas momentarily but Chalas frees himself. Chalas looking to sit in guard and control but Prayin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chalas tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight stays on the outside here - Chalas looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A combination from Prayin does no damage. Chalas dodges the punch combination from Prayin.
Prayin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chalas is fending him off so far but Prayin persists. Nope, Chalas circles away and we're back to standing. Chalas swats away the attempt to clinch by Prayin. Chalas shoots in and bounces Prayin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Chalas stands up from guard. Let's bang! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Chalas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chalas looks for a takedown but Prayin sprawls well. Chalas moves away from the strike by Prayin. Prayin clinches with his opponent.
Prayin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Prayin gets a double leg takedown into Chalas's guard. Chalas controls Prayin momentarily but Prayin frees himself. Prayin wants to control from the top but Chalas keeps moving. Chalas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Prayin's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chalas pushes down on Prayin's leg and manages to get into half guard. Chalas drops an elbow to the side of Prayin's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chalas is looking to take a break and control but Prayin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Chalas slows the pace down in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Prayin wants to improve his position but Chalas is controlling well.

Layin Prayin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Chalas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Prayin's waist but Prayin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chalas off to one side. Prayin instigates a clinch. Chalas is working for takedown but Prayin is calmly controlling the position for now. Layin Prayin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luis Chalas. Chalas wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Prayin lands an elbow that stopped Chalas in his tracks for a moment. Chalas is fighting off a takedown attempt but Prayin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Chalas to the mat. Chalas regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Chalas throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Prayin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chalas on the ground. Chalas is trying to control the position but Prayin postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Prayin looks like he's trying to stand up.
Chalas is figuring out what he wants to do next. Luis Chalas has got the better of the ground game so far. Chalas is looking to take a break and control but Prayin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Luis Chalas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A combination from Prayin does no damage. No luck with that takedown attempt from Prayin. Prayin tries to clinch but Chalas moves away and Chalas counters with a left to the body. Prayin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A shot to the liver by Chalas. Beautiful body shot. Chalas tries to clinch up but Prayin circles away and keeps his distance. Chalas with a body punch. A glancing blow. Prayin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Chalas shoots in for a takedown but Prayin shows good takedown defense. Chalas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Prayin counters with a single leg into guard. Chalas didn't expect that. That's three minutes gone in the round. Prayin wants to get up but he can't break Chalas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Prayin trying to control the position from guard on top but Chalas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Chalas is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Prayin has his hands clasped together but Chalas extends an breaks Prayin's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Chalas.
