The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Amarela but Amarela pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ferguson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ferguson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roddy Ferguson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ferguson has his takedown stuffed
and Amarela counters with a straight right hand.
Amarela jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Amarela jabs Ferguson right on the nose. Ferguson blinks but takes it well.
Ferguson shoots in and drives through. Amarela sprawls well.

and Amarela counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Amarela cracks Ferguson with an open hand slap.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ferguson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Amarela as he avoids it easily.

and Amarela counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Ferguson is breathing heavily.
Amarela throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ferguson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Amarela.
Nice uppercut there from Amarela.

Ferguson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Amarela avoids it really well and circles away.
Ferguson shoots in but Amarela avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Amarela moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Ferguson! Amarela continues to tee off on Ferguson, landing with a left and a right! Amarela connects with a right hand that leaves Ferguson sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Amarela!
