Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Mcgrath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watson's entrance music is Roll Right. A fine choice. Dylan Mcgrath has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Watson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dylan Mcgrath!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Watson lands a left and a right that send Mcgrath crashing to the mat, dazed. Watson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Dylan Mcgrath has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mcgrath enables Watson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mcgrath manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mcgrath keeping moving, preventing Watson from controlling successfully.
Mcgrath pulls Watson in close to prevent any damage.

Mcgrath drops Watson with a beautiful combination! Watson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Mcgrath is looking for the KO!

Mcgrath uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Watson.

That was a close round but I would say that Brian Watson will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Mcgrath stuffs the takedown.
Watson seems to have got his legs back now.
Watson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Watson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Watson lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mcgrath will feel that in the morning.
Mcgrath displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Watson.

Mcgrath stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mcgrath wants it to stay on the feet.

Mcgrath decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mcgrath crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Watson - the referee stops the clock and Mcgrath gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Watson. Mcgrath manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A decent looking cross lands there for Mcgrath.

Watson tries to bum rush Mcgrath with a series of wild strikes but Mcgrath uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Watson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mcgrath manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Crunch! Mcgrath slams his shin into Watson's torso.
Dylan Mcgrath seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Watson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mcgrath.
Mcgrath closes this distance looking for a takedown but Watson circles away.

Mcgrath lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Watson circles away quickly and effectively.
Mcgrath needs to keep his hands up - Watson had a free shot at his head there.
Watson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Watson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Watson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
No luck for Mcgrath with that takedown attempt.

Watson cracks Mcgrath with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Watson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mcgrath is fending him off so far but Watson persists. Nope, Mcgrath circles away and we're back to standing.

Brian Watson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Watson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mcgrath's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
