Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Larkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiro Matsuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larkin comes to the cage accompanied by Hollywood Undead. Hiro Matsuka will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hiro Matsuka!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Larkin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Matsuka was covering up waiting for the punch and Larkin finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Larkin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Matsuka looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Matsuka looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Matsuka!
You can see the frustration on Larkin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Matsuka tries for a kimura but Larkin is defending well.
Larkin is looking to regain half guard here but Matsuka keeps moving and retains side control.

Larkin sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Matsuka seems to be looking for submissions.

Larkin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Matsuka pulls his head out easily.

Matsuka is working for a kimura here but Larkin manages to reverse the position and he's now in Matsuka's guard.

Larkin has gone for a leg lock! Matsuka slips out almost immediately though and dives into Larkin's guard.

Matsuka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Larkin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Larkin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Matsuka gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Larkin is looking for a triangle but Matsuka pushes his legs off easily.
Matsuka trying to control the position from guard on top but Larkin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Matsuka sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Larkin's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Matsuka is keen to just control but Larkin is a slippery customer.

Larkin is looking to get back to full guard here but Matsuka has managed to pass to side control instead.
Matsuka tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Larkin is looking to regain half guard here but Matsuka keeps moving and retains side control.
Matsuka laying and praying for a moment but Larkin takes advantage and regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Larkin is defending against the submission attempts here by Matsuka.

Matsuka is looking to advance position but Larkin won't allow it.

Matsuka is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Larkin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Larkin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Matsuka manages to get himself to full guard.
Larkin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matsuka throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Larkin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Larkin looking for a triangle here. Matsuka is fighting it but it looks tight! Larkin pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Matsuka is tapping out - this one is all over!

Steven Larkin decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
