Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nicklas Bendtner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, La Treta! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bendtner misses with a takedown and Treta counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Treta fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Bendtner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Treta pinned against the cage. Treta gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Bendtner doesn't succeed with the takedown and Treta counters with a left and a right that stings Bendtner. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nicklas Bendtner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bendtner with a lazy takedown attempt and Treta counters with an inside leg kick. Treta should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Bendtner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Treta's waist but Treta gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bendtner off to one side. A slow jab from Treta misses its intended target. Treta lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bendtner backs up against the cage.

Treta shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bendtner napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Bendtner tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Treta wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. You can see the frustration on Bendtner's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bendtner is looking for a sweep. Treta is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bendtner actively working from the bottom here. Treta blocks the strikes from Bendtner.

Treta is working away from the top position though. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Treta in particular looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bendtner works his way to full guard. Good work. Treta trying to control but Bendtner is working from the bottom. Treta is stalling in the full guard. Treta trying to control the position from guard on top but Bendtner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by La Treta. Bendtner scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Treta can do anything to dispel that myth. Bendtner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Treta keeps working. Bendtner is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Treta is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bendtner trying to control the position but Treta is working away. Bendtner tries for a kimura but Treta is defending well. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Treta is not content to let Bendtner control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bendtner tries for a kimura but Treta is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but La Treta will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Bendtner bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Treta's head backwards. Bendtner shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. No luck for Bendtner with that takedown attempt. Bendtner throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Treta tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bendtner is in Treta's guard. Bendtner wants to control from the top but Treta keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bendtner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Treta swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bendtner trying to control the position from guard on top but Treta is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Treta wants to sweep but no luck. Bendtner pushes down on Treta's leg and manages to get into half guard. Bendtner wants to work for an arm triangle but Treta is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Bendtner is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bendtner drops back looking for a leg! Treta is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Treta manages to kick Bendtner off! Bendtner jumps back into Treta's guard. Bendtner wants to pass the guard but Treta is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bendtner trying to control but Treta is working from the bottom. Bendtner throwing strikes but missing. Bendtner wants to control from the top but Treta keeps moving. Bendtner in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bendtner wants to pass the guard but Treta is keeping the position. Bendtner throws a big elbow that misses. Bendtner content to stall in guard here. Treta has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bendtner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bendtner wants to control from the top but Treta keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nicklas Bendtner dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Bendtner shoots in and drives through. Treta sprawls well. Bendtner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Treta sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bendtner somewhat. Treta goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Horrible takedown by Bendtner or perhaps it was just good defense by Treta which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nicklas Bendtner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bendtner staying out of range there. Bendtner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Treta as he avoids it easily. Bendtner shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Treta counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Treta is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bendtner's half guard. Bendtner trying to control here.
Treta wants to take a breather but Bendtner is having none of it. Bendtner has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Treta is working away from the top position though. Treta drops an elbow to the side of Bendtner's head. Treta content to control rather than advance. Bendtner is not content to let Treta control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bendtner trying to control from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. A jab from Bendtner misses. Nice sprawl there from Treta as Bendtner shoots in. Bendtner with a lazy takedown attempt and Treta counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bendtner's knee momentarily. La Treta is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A momentary lapse in concentration from Treta enables Bendtner to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Treta manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Treta controls Bendtner momentarily but Bendtner frees himself. Treta is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Treta is trying to control the position but Bendtner postures up. Bendtner slips nicely into half guard. Bendtner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Treta tries to roll over but Bendtner keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bendtner sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Treta defending well though. Bendtner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Treta's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bendtner not landing any meaningful shots this time. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bendtner is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Treta sees it coming and defends easily. Bendtner throwing shots but Treta is blocking nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nicklas Bendtner. I think Bendtner has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
