PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Serga Magged (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Forkashy Vikarie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vikarie has chosen Halloween as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Serga Magged!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Forkashy Vikarie!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magged tries to close the distance and clinch but Vikarie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Serga Magged seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vikarie keeps the fight on the outside.
Magged moves out of range of the body kick from Vikarie.

Vikarie moves into the clinch.

Vikarie manages to break the clinch.
Magged tries to clinch but Vikarie moves out of range.
Magged tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vikarie sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Magged somewhat.
Magged throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Vikarie tries to clinch up but Magged circles away and keeps his distance.

The fight stays on the outside here - Magged looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Magged looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Magged takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

and Vikarie counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Serga Magged has been cut.

Vikarie looks to land a body kick but Magged moved away.

and Vikarie counters with a straight right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Magged lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Vikarie at a distance.
Magged looks to land a right hand but Vikarie moved out of range.

Vikarie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Magged to the mat! Magged manages to get full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Magged lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Vikarie!

Magged avoids the attempt from Vikarie to control.

Poor strikes thrown by Magged there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Vikarie steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Magged.
Magged keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Vikarie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Magged gets caught napping as Vikarie dives in and scores a takedown. Magged manages to retain guard.

Vikarie stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Vikarie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Magged paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vikarie throws a leg kick but Magged sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Vikarie throws a series of punches but Magged avoids them all with ease.

Magged could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Magged throws a sloppy head kick and Vikarie moves out of range easily.
Magged shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vikarie as he jumps to the side.

Vikarie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Magged manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vikarie has Magged in his guard.
Magged stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vikarie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vikarie wants to stand but Magged is controlling the position.
Vikarie keeping moving, preventing Magged from controlling successfully.
Forkashy Vikarie is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Magged controlling from the top position.
Magged tries to free his leg and advance position but Vikarie is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Serga Magged wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Magged shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vikarie but Vikarie pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Vikarie circles away from the clinch attempt.
Vikarie misses with a two punch combination.
Vikarie moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Serga Magged has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Vikarie takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Forkashy Vikarie.
Well Vikarie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Forkashy Vikarie spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
