Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Giannacopulos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Hesy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Giannacopulos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Hesy! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hesy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Hesy listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Hesy throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Hesy lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hesy thuds his right hand into Giannacopulos's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Giannacopulos takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A big left from Hesy misses. No joy there for Giannacopulos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hesy connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Hesy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Giannacopulos fails with the takedown. Hesy sizes up Giannacopulos with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Giannacopulos takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Hesy cracks Giannacopulos with a right hand to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hesy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hesy wants it to stay on the feet. Giannacopulos shoots in for a takedown but Hesy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Giannacopulos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Giannacopulos manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hesy on his heels. He'll look to pass Hesy's guard now, I'm sure. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Giannacopulos drops back looking for a leg! Hesy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hesy manages to kick Giannacopulos off! Giannacopulos jumps back into Hesy's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Giannacopulos drops back looking for a leg! Hesy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hesy manages to kick Giannacopulos off! Giannacopulos jumps back into Hesy's guard. Giannacopulos decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Giannacopulos slips a jab from Hesy. Nice defenses there by Giannacopulos.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hesy throws a right hand that Giannacopulos ducks under and follows up with a left that Giannacopulos also avoids with ease. Hesy misses with a looping left. Hesy pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Giannacopulos on the wrong end of a nice hook. Hesy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Giannacopulos moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Giannacopulos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hesy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Giannacopulos somewhat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Giannacopulos takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Giannacopulos shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Hesy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Giannacopulos. Giannacopulos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hesy as he jumps to the side.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Giannacopulos changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hesy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Giannacopulos thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Giannacopulos is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hesy has escaped the position, nice work there. Giannacopulos has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Hesy is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Giannacopulos yanks on the arm and Hesy is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Giannacopulos.
