Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Hodges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Justin Hodges! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Xavier Hudson! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Hudson. Those never looked like landing. Hudson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Hudson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hodges clinches. Hudson is trying to maintain a safe position but Hodges gets an underhook and turns Hudson into the cage. Hodges has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hudson uses from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hodges has his feet on Hudson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Hodges shoots in for a takedown but Hudson shows good takedown defense. Hudson closes the distance but Hodges moves to the side and Hodges counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hudson is trying to maintain the position but Hodges is very close to passing his half guard. Hudson wants to improve his position but Hodges is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hodges is thwarting Hudson's attempts to control the position. Hudson pushes Hodges off looking to stand but Hodges dives back in and keeps control.
Hodges throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Hodges really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hudson wants to control but Hodges is keeping busy.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hudson misses with a takedown attempt and Hodges counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hodges. Hodges is breathing heavily. Hodges gets to his feet - Hudson follows without any prompting. Hudson wants to clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hudson fails in his attempt to clinch. Hodges leaves Hudson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hodges shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Hudson tries to roll over but Hodges keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hodges stands up and beckons Hudson to join him on the feet. Hudson wants to clinch. Hudson shoots in and drives through. Hodges sprawls well. Justin Hodges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xavier Hudson. Nice sprawl there from Hodges as Hudson shoots in. Hudson fails with a takedown attempt. Hodges shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hodges is taking a breather. Hudson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hudson tries to roll over but Hodges keeps him under control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hodges thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hudson shoots in but Hodges avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hodges shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hudson napping and manages to drive through into side control! Hodges working away. Hudson looking for a sweep but Hodges has passed into full mount! Oh no! Hodges is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Hodges stuffs the takedown attempt from Hudson. Hudson gets slowly back to his feet. Hodges throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hudson fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hudson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hodges prevents it.
Justin Hodges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xavier Hudson. Hudson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hodges turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hodges manages to end up in side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Hudson tries to improve position but can't. Hudson is trying to get back to his feet. Hodges is trying to get an arm triangle but Hudson is defending well. Hudson is letting Hodges control him for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hodges tries for a kimura but Hudson is defending well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hodges controlling the position from side mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hudson is trying to get back to half guard. Hudson tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Hodges presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Hodges raining down hammerfists from mount. Justin Hodges overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hudson is trying to escape the mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hodges swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
