Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Stolen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ryan Stolen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matt Ribeiro! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ribeiro fails with the takedown. Ribeiro fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stolen sprawls well initially but Ribeiro persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Stolen is looking to improve his position.
Stolen slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Ribeiro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Stolen keeping moving, preventing Ribeiro from controlling successfully. Ribeiro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ribeiro drops back, looking for a kneebar! Stolen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Stolen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Stolen! Sloppy strikes there by Stolen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ribeiro is not content to let Stolen control the position. Ribeiro is trying to improve his position. Stolen working the body and head with strikes. Stolen is looking to take a break and control but Ribeiro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Stolen advances to full mount. Ribeiro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stolen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ribeiro is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Ribeiro tries to hold on but Stolen pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stolen prevents Ribeiro from getting the reversal. Stolen is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ribeiro to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ribeiro shrugs it off. Stolen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Stolen looking to control and managing it successfully. Stolen looking to control but Ribeiro is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Stolen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ribeiro is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stolen lands a nice shot to the head. Ribeiro tries to reverse the position but Stolen maintains control. Stolen landing strikes, looking to finish! Stolen content just to control the position here. Ribeiro is trying to escape the mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stolen controlling from the full mount. Ryan Stolen dominated that round. That's time! Stolen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Stolen throws a right and a left that Ribeiro avoids nicely. Stolen shoots in and bounces Ribeiro off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Stolen trying to control but Ribeiro is working from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ribeiro can do anything to dispel that myth. Stolen is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Stolen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ribeiro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stolen has managed to get both his arms back between Ribeiro's legs - danger averted. Stolen trying to control the position from guard on top but Ribeiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ribeiro is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ryan Stolen wasn't doing enough on the ground. Ribeiro clinches up with Stolen and pushes him back against the cage. Ribeiro wants the takedown. Stolen is fighting it off but Ribeiro persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Stolen's guard against the cage. Stolen pushes Ribeiro off and gets back to his feet.
Stolen slaps away a takedown attempt from Ribeiro, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ryan Stolen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ribeiro instigates a clinch. Ribeiro drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stolen gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Ryan Stolen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Ribeiro. Ribeiro has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stolen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Ribeiro is breathing heavily. Ribeiro is trying to drag Stolen to the mat but Stolen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Stolen manages to pull guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stolen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Stolen pushes Ribeiro off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Stolen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ribeiro tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Stolen is in Ribeiro's guard. Stolen looking to pass the guard. Stolen wants to control from the top but Ribeiro keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stolen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Ribeiro is controlling Stolen's posture. Ribeiro wants to control the position but Stolen says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Ribeiro is not content to let Stolen control the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Stolen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ribeiro doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stolen. Ribeiro moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stolen moves into range and clinches up with Ribeiro. Ribeiro has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Stolen is trying to keep an underhook but Ribeiro manages to get the takedown into half guard. Stolen is defending against the submission attempts here by Ribeiro.
Ribeiro seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Stolen has recovered full guard. Ryan Stolen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Stolen pulls Ribeiro in to control the position.

Stolen uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Ribeiro with a lazy takedown attempt and Stolen counters with a shoot takedown. Ribeiro fights it but they end up in guard. Stolen trying to control the position from guard on top but Ribeiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stolen engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Ryan Stolen just wasn't active enough. Ribeiro closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stolen pulls guard. Stolen wants to sweep but no luck. Stolen has his hands on Ribeiro's head, controlling the position. Stolen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Ribeiro has picked Stolen up and slammed him! Stolen can't keep hold of the triangle and Ribeiro manages to pass to side control! Both fighters are breathing heavily. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Ribeiro is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stolen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro taking a break here but Stolen is having none of it and regains half guard. Ribeiro is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stolen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ribeiro. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stolen looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ribeiro perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Ribeiro is just content to waste time from the top position. Stolen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Stolen looking to control.
Matt Ribeiro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Stolen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

And that's the end of the fight! Ryan Stolen showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stolen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
