Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charly Graf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmi Ortega!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ortega closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Graf did well to prevent Ortega getting side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ortega is thwarting Graf's attempts to control the position.
Ortega is looking to advance position but Graf won't allow it.
Graf moves into full guard.
Graf pulls Ortega in to control the position.
Ortega throwing strikes but missing.
Graf seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Graf working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ortega.
Graf has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Ortega pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Graf is keeping the position for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Charly Graf wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Ortega tries to score a power double leg takedown but Graf sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ortega somewhat.

Graf shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ortega's guard.
Graf stands and throws Ortega's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ortega is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Graf is looking to take a break and control but Ortega is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Graf misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Ortega seems a little lost for a moment, as Graf dominates the positioning.

Graf postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Ortega really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Graf. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ortega wants to clinch up but Graf keeps it at a distance.
Charly Graf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Graf throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Graf clobbers Ortega with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Graf shoots in for a double leg but Ortega sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Ortega gets a clinch.
Graf is working for takedown but Ortega is calmly controlling the position for now.
Graf misses with a punch on the inside.
Ortega swings away with an uppercut that misses.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charly Graf. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ortega fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Ortega wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Graf has him pressed against the cage.

Graf is trying to maintain a safe position but Ortega gets an underhook and turns Graf into the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Graf takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Ortega makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Graf can't find room to land a body shot as Ortega controls the action.

Ortega wants the takedown. Graf is fighting it off but Ortega persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Graf's guard against the cage.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jimmi Ortega.

Ortega fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Graf to the ground. Ortega is now in Graf's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Graf manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ortega tries to hold on but Graf postures up.
Ortega is trying to stand.
Graf is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ortega can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Graf takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Ortega avoids a series of strikes thrown by Graf.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Graf has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A big strike lands for Graf! That's really hurt Ortega and he's turned his back - Graf keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Graf jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
