Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Franco Rockstar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akeem Mignott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mignott changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rockstar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Mignott is looking to take a break and control but Rockstar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rockstar tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mignott manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Rockstar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mignott closes the distance and clinches up with Rockstar, looking for a takedown. Mignott pushes Rockstar against the cage but Rockstar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Rockstar lands a front kick.
Rockstar shoots in for a takedown but Mignott shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mignott tries to bum rush Rockstar with a series of wild strikes but Rockstar uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Rockstar closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mignott's guard.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Mignott has eaten all the pies!

Rockstar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Mignott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rockstar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rockstar decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Mignott changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rockstar tries to avoid it but Mignott manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rockstar to the ground. Rockstar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mignott throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rockstar's waist but Rockstar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mignott off to one side.
