Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Masa Saito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gabriel Lewis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Masa Saito! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gabriel Lewis! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab, jab by Lewis - just one landing.
It looks like Masa Saito has been cut. Lewis buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lewis tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Saito avoids the body shot from Lewis.
Saito displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lewis throws out the jab. Lewis jabbing away but nothing is landing. Saito scores with the left hand. Lewis knows he should have avoided that one. Nice straight punches there by Lewis. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lewis. Lewis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Saito moves out of range and avoids them all easily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lewis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Saito shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Saito's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saito stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lewis swivels though and keeps the full guard. Saito might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Saito with a flurry of punches that miss. Lewis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Saito sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Masa Saito just wasn't active enough. Lewis looks to score with a jab to the body but Saito is just out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A momentary lapse in concentration from Lewis enables Saito to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lewis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Saito sitting in guard, not really doing much. Saito postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lewis can do anything to dispel that myth. Saito slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Saito passes Lewis's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saito takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Saito scoring with strikes to the body and head. Saito perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Masa Saito has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Saito shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Saito showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Saito seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lewis for as long as he can get away with.
That's four minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Masa Saito. Saito needs to keep his hands up - Lewis had a free shot at his head there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A looping hook to the body misses from Lewis. Saito does a little dance to reset his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Saito looks to throw the jab but Lewis is out of range. Lewis lands a leg kick that knocks Saito off balance momentarily. Lewis swings for the body but Saito moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Masa Saito dominated that round. The cut man is working on Masa Saito's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Saito ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A good leg kick by Lewis. Lewis scores with the left hand. Saito knows he should have avoided that one. Saito fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Saito takes a shot right to the bread basket. Lewis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gabriel Lewis seems to be getting the better of the standup. Lewis clobbers Saito with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Masa Saito's cut is getting worse. Saito on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Lewis sends Saito crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Lewis is motioning to the referee to let Saito up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Saito is rocked! Lewis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Saito stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Saito fails with a takedown attempt. Lewis cracks Saito on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Saito falls backwards against the cage. Lewis follows up with more strikes that drop Saito to his knees. Lewis keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Saito! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gabriel Lewis!
