Flanders comes to the cage accompanied by Star Spangled Banner. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flanders fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Flanders lands a nice looking body shot.
Alonso moves to clinch but Flanders breaks away
letting Flanders counter with a right hand.
It looks like Ned Alonso has been cut.
Alonso tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Flanders lands a really nice looking cross but Alonso seems unphased.
Flanders scores with a jab.
Flanders tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No joy there for Alonso, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Flanders counters with a nice leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Flanders clobbers Alonso with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Flanders digs a good body shot into Alonso's ribs.
Alonso looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ned Alonso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alonso takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Alonso misses with a series of wild punches.

Flanders connects with a solid leg kick.
Flanders really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Alonso tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Flanders manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Alonso misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Flanders.
Flanders is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Flanders, as that shot connected.
Flanders looks to score with a jab to the body but Alonso is just out of range.
Flanders lands a big head kick that sends Alonso tumbling to the mat! Flanders takes a step backwards and waves Alonso back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Alonso is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Flanders lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Alonso is still on wobbly legs! Can Flanders finish him?
Flanders connects with a jab.
Alonso looks to land a combination but Flanders avoids it well.

Flanders is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Alonso throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Alonso lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Flanders circles away quickly and effectively.
Alonso tries to clinch but Flanders moves out of range.

A shot to the liver by Flanders. Beautiful body shot.
Alonso seems to have recovered his senses.
Whack! Flanders lands a heavy head kick that drops Alonso. The ref tackles Flanders to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Alonso was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Todd Flanders!

Todd Flanders was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
