Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Will Apae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Calcavantez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Apae avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Calcavantez wants to clinch but Apae slips to the side
and Apae counters with a stiff right hand.
Calcavantez darts in trying to clinch

and Apae counters by clinching up.
Apae lands a right hand.
Apae misses with a knee to the head.
Apae softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Apae tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Calcavantez is trying to force a seperation but Apae has the dominant position.

Calcavantez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Calcavantez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Calcavantez moves in looking to clinch but Apae pushes him off.
Apae misses with a hook. Calcavantez ducked under it nicely.

Apae cracks Calcavantez with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Calcavantez wants to clinch but Apae slips to the side
enabling Apae to counter with a crisp jab.
Apae drops Calcavantez with a naaaaasty hook - Calcavantez is in real trouble here! Apae dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
