Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ban Dit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Moraes!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moraes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dit to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Moraes looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Dit is in close to Moraes's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Dit stands up over Moraes, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Dit in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Moraes is looking for a triangle here but Dit uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Moraes prevents Dit from improving position.
Dit lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Moraes down.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dit is trying to get an arm triangle but Moraes is defending well.
Dit working the head with strikes.
It looks like Daniel Moraes has been cut.
Dit scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Moraes to see if he's OK.
That has opened up Daniel Moraes's cut even more.
Dit scoring with punches from side control.
Moraes is rocked!
Dit tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dit has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moraes tries to buck Dit off but Dit is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dit taking a breather here.
Dit is chipping away with strikes.
Dit has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Moraes!
Dit sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Dit postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Moraes looks a forlorn figure.
Moraes is still in real trouble! Can Dit finish him?
The cut above Daniel Moraes's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Dit scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Moraes?
Daniel Moraes's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Daniel Moraes's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ban Dit!
