PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Gorden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Dekkers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeff Gorden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Dekkers!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gorden shoots in but Dekkers avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Dekkers moves into the clinch successfully.
Gorden goes for a takedown attempt but Dekkers pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Dekkers tries to clinch but Gorden is having none of it.
Dekkers moves in looking to clinch but Gorden pushes him off.
Dekkers tries to clinch up but Gorden circles away and keeps his distance.
Dekkers wants to clinch up but Gorden keeps it at a distance.
Dekkers is looking to clinch.
Dekkers throws a push kick but Gorden slaps the foot to one side.
Dekkers wants to clinch up but Gorden keeps it at a distance.
Dekkers tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gorden manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gorden works Dekkers's body with a nice hook.

and Gorden counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Gorden in side control lands a decent elbow.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Dekkers is trying to control Gorden's posture but Gorden avoids it.
Gorden works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Gorden has an Americana. Dekkers didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gorden is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gorden hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
