Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Kroon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wiliam Lowel!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kroon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kroon won't allow Lowel to get back to his feet.
Lowel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kroon sitting in guard here, content to control.
Lowel has momentary wrist control but Kroon slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kroon passes Lowel's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Kroon is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kroon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kroon wants to free his trapped foot but Lowel is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Lowel is defending against the submission attempts here by Kroon.
Lowel is looking to improve his position.

Lowel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kroon prevents Lowel from improving his position.
Lowel trying to hold on to Kroon's head to control him but Kroon postures up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kroon trying to mount his opponent but Lowel defends it.
Lowel is refusing to be controlled, as Kroon sits in half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lowel is looking for a sweep. Kroon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lowel is staying active underneath Kroon, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kroon is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Kroon scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Kroon seems to be looking for submissions.
Kroon frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kroon controlling from the full mount.
Kroon has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lowel's face.


It looks like Wiliam Lowel has been cut.
Lowel is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kroon controlling the pace for now.
Kroon lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Kroon looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Lowel tries to lock up and control but Kroon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Lowel is wriggling around trying to escape.

Lowel sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kroon works his foot free and advances to mount.

Kroon controlling his opponent.

Kroon looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Kroon wants to control the pace but Lowel is squirming around nicely.
Kroon working away from the top, dropping strikes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lowel tries to hold on but Kroon pushes him away.
Lowel really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Kroon is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lowel to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lowel shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kroon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lowel was covering up waiting for the punch and Kroon finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kroon works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kroon keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kroon seems to be looking for submissions.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kroon is thwarting Lowel's attempts to control the position.

Kroon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lowel has managed to free his arm - good work.
Lowel is pressing down on Kroon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Kroon trying to control the position from guard on top but Lowel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kroon stopping the sweep attempt from Lowel.
Kroon works over Lowel with some ground and pound from guard.
Kroon stands and throws Lowel's legs to the side, diving into side control.
You can see the frustration on Lowel's face as Kroon controls the position.
Lowel can't do much from the bottom here.
Lowel throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Lowel is looking to reverse the position.
Lowel is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kroon trying to control the position but Lowel is working away.
Lowel takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kroon lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lowel down.
Kroon landing strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lowel throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Lowel is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kroon has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Kroon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kroon landing strikes from the mount and Lowel is in trouble!


That has opened up Wiliam Lowel's cut even more.

Wiliam Lowel's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Wiliam Lowel's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
