Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Adam Rubio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hachiro Matsui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Rubio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hachiro Matsui!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsui scores with a three punch combo!


It looks like Adam Rubio has been cut.

Rubio shoots in and bounces Matsui off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Rubio scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Rubio throws a strike aimed at the side of Matsui's head but Matsui avoids it well.

Matsui with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Matsui has control of Rubio's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rubio regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rubio tries to close the distance and clinch but Matsui swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rubio takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Matsui ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rubio moves away.

Matsui avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rubio looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Rubio looks to score with a jab to the body but Matsui is just out of range.

Matsui gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rubio drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Matsui dives on top into guard.
Rubio can't keep his opponent in guard - Matsui advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Matsui is trying to control. Rubio wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Matsui thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rubio's head.
Rubio won't allow Matsui to pass to mount.

Matsui has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rubio is proving hard to escape from.
Matsui slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Matsui stops Rubio from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rubio manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Rubio wants to control but Matsui is keeping him busy.

Matsui tries to get to full guard but Rubio has control of the leg.
Rubio is trying to control the action in half guard but Matsui is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Matsui keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Rubio is looking to stall here but Matsui recovers full guard.
Matsui controls Rubio momentarily but Rubio frees himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Hachiro Matsui will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Matsui looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Matsui cracks Rubio with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Rubio moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rubio jabs Matsui right on the nose. Matsui blinks but takes it well.
Matsui is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Rubio rather than just go for the knockout.
Rubio fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Matsui to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Matsui looks to clinch but Rubio throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Matsui taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Adam Rubio!
