The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turk throws a jab when Govna was well out of range.
Turk throws a right and a left that Govna avoids nicely.
Turk slips under a jab.
Govna throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Govna misses with a wild combination.
Turk throws a body kick that misses.
Some wild striking there from Turk.
Turk misses with a double jab

and Govna counters with a nice double leg into side control. Turk won't be happy with that.
Turk is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Govna is looking to take a break and control but Turk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Turk is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Govna has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Turk bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Govna swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kusok Govna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Govna throws a right hand that Turk ducks under and follows up with a left that Turk also avoids with ease.

Johnny Turk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Govna throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Turk stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Govna misses with a lunging right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Govna looks gassed!

Govna on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Turk connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Govna to the floor! Turk dives in looking for the finish!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turk slips a nice elbow through Govna's hands, connecting with Govna's forehead.

Turk escapes and gets back to his feet.
Turk goes for a small jab and connects. Now Turk goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Govna stumbles back but Turk runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Govna to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Govna will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Johnny Turk!
