Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Goro Shokan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Giorgio Petrosyan!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shokan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Petrosyan paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Petrosyan scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Goro Shokan has been cut.
Shokan tries to close the distance and clinch but Petrosyan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A big left from Shokan misses.
Shokan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Petrosyan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Shokan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Petrosyan.
Shokan throws a series of punches but Petrosyan moves out of range.
Shokan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Petrosyan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Shokan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Petrosyan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Petrosyan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Shokan misses with a double jab.
Petrosyan is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Petrosyan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Petrosyan is looking to land body kicks.
Sloppy strikes from Shokan. Those never looked like landing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shokan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Petrosyan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Goro Shokan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shokan throws a right and a left that both miss.
A punch combination from Shokan misses.
Shokan moves in looking to clinch but Petrosyan pushes him off.
Shokan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Petrosyan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Shokan tries to clinch
and Petrosyan counters with a slapping leg kick.

Petrosyan clinches.
Shokan tries to circle away but Petrosyan has him pinned against the cage.
Petrosyan keeps control of Shokan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Shokan is trying to push Petrosyan away but Petrosyan has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Shokan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Petrosyan prevents Shokan from breaking the clinch.
Petrosyan dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Shokan tries to circle away but Petrosyan has him pinned against the cage.
Shokan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Shokan.
Petrosyan effectively controlling the action here.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Petrosyan.


Shokan is rocked!
Petrosyan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Oh Shokan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Petrosyan blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Petrosyan has Shokan pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Shokan is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Petrosyan - that's hurt Shokan badly! Oh, another knee lands and Shokan is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Shokan doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Giorgio Petrosyan!
Giorgio Petrosyan seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
