Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Nilsson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Blake McIntosh! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McIntosh gets caught flat footed, as Nilsson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. McIntosh wants to get back to his feet but Nilsson passes into half guard.
McIntosh pushes Nilsson off looking to stand but Nilsson dives back in and keeps control.
Nilsson seems to be working for a kimura but McIntosh defends the submission attempt. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Nilsson passes to full mount! Nilsson landing shots from mount. McIntosh is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
McIntosh looks gassed! McIntosh is trying to stand but he's just given Nilsson his back. Nilsson struggling to keep hold of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nilsson tightening his grip on McIntosh, looking for the choke.
That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Nilsson's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Nilsson is riding his opponent, not letting McIntosh buck him off. McIntosh is keeping busy.
Nilsson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McIntosh is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. McIntosh trying to get back to his feet but Nilsson is in full control for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Nilsson punishes McIntosh with strikes from the back mount. Nilsson misses with a punch to the head. McIntosh looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Nilsson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McIntosh is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Nilsson throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Nilsson working for the choke. McIntosh is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. McIntosh won't enjoy being in this position. Nilsson looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - McIntosh is tapping - it's over boys! Nilsson picks up the submission victory!
