Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marlo Froch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Burza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Froch comes into the arena with Can't be touched blaring out of the sound system. Burza is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marlo Froch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roman Burza!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burza misses with a takedown attempt
and Froch counters with a nice leg kick.
Burza misses with a double jab.
Froch thuds his shin into the meat of Burza's side.
Burza throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Froch throws out a leg kick but Burza moves out of range and Froch only half commits.
No luck for Burza with that takedown attempt.
Burza misses with a wild combination.
Burza misses with a leg kick.

A right-left combo lands from Burza.
Froch avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Burza feints a jab promting Froch to slip. Burza then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Froch slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Marlo Froch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Burza throws a hook but Froch avoids it easily.
Burza fails to land the takedown.
Marlo Froch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roman Burza.
Froch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Burza throws a leg kick but Froch checks it.

Burza throws a right and a left that Froch avoids nicely.
Froch avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Burza lands with a hook. Froch tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Roman Burza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Froch throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Burza misses with the combination.

Froch stuffs the takedown attempt from Burza. Burza gets slowly back to his feet.
Burza will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Froch scores with a three punch combo!
Burza uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Froch.
Burza changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Froch tries to avoid it but Burza manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Froch to the ground. Froch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Froch shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Burza is defended easily by Froch.

Burza fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Froch is out of range.
Burza misses with a few strikes there.
Burza throws the left hand but Froch avoids the punch easily.

Froch avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Burza tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Froch swivels and escapes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Roman Burza will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Burza tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Froch is able to avoid easily.
No joy there for Burza, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Burza shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Burza was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Burza wants to control the pace but Froch is squirming around nicely.

Burza is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Froch can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Burza tries to push Froch's head away but Froch is holding on tight.

Froch uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Burza.
Burza throws a left and a right that both miss
and Froch counters with a stiff right hand.
Burza shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A combination from Burza does no damage.
Burza shoots in for a takedown but Froch shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Froch misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Burza.

Froch tries to clinch but Burza is having none of it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Burza.

Burza loads up on a big right hand but Froch slips the punch.
Marlo Froch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Roman Burza showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Froch blocks a low kick nicely.
Burza shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Froch pinned against the cage. Froch gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Burza misses with a low kick.
Burza misses with a looping left.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice uppercut lands for Froch. That snapped Burza's head back.
Froch thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Burza if he has to take too many more of those.

Froch ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Burza throws a leg kick that is checked
and Froch counters with a head kick. That will keep Burza thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Froch goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Froch tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Burza counters with a one-two to the body.
Burza paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Marlo Froch has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Burza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Froch sprawls well. Froch wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Burza gets slowly back to his feet.
Burza throws a shot from downtown. Froch moves away and avoids it.
Froch goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
A low kick from Burza is predictable there
and Froch counters with a nice low kick that buckles Burza's knee momentarily.

Burza shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Burza was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Froch really wants to buck Burza off and get back to his feet.
Burza connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Froch is looking to get to half guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Burza cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Froch tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Burza working the ground and pound effectively.
Roman Burza is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Froch regains half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Burza performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Burza prevents Froch from standing back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Roman Burza comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Burza has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
