Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matheus Malinowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Malinowski might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Offspring-Pretty Fly (For a White Guy). Carlos Diaz has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matheus Malinowski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Diaz! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malinowski shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Diaz is trying to defend but Malinowski finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Diaz is trying is best to control the position here. Malinowski wants to free his trapped foot but Diaz is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz tries to roll over but Malinowski keeps him under control. Malinowski seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Diaz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Diaz wants to get back to full guard. Malinowski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diaz keeps working. Diaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Malinowski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We're going to have a standup here because Matheus Malinowski wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Diaz stalks Malinowski and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Malinowski's face. Malinowski staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Matheus Malinowski has been cut. Diaz scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Malinowski doesn't seem bothered though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malinowski instigates a clinch. Malinowski tries to land a knee to the head but Diaz blocks with his arms.
Diaz is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Malinowski gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Diaz pulls Malinowski into guard.
Malinowski trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom. Diaz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Malinowski defends it easily. Malinowski passes easily into side control. Nice work. Diaz wants to control but Malinowski postures up. Malinowski decides to stand back up.

This has been an exciting period of action! Malinowski tries to get back to half guard but can't. Diaz working the ground and pound. Diaz taking a breather here. Diaz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Diaz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Diaz in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malinowski is looking to reverse the position. Diaz content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Diaz tries to stand but Malinowski is controlling his head. Diaz is looking to take a break and control but Malinowski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Malinowski is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
You can see the frustration on Malinowski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Diaz throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Malinowski being controlled for a moment. Malinowski tries to improve position but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Diaz dominated that round. The cut man is working on Matheus Malinowski's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A frustrated look appears on Malinowski's face as he tries to break the clinch. Diaz wants a takedown.
Diaz has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Malinowski after a bit of a struggle. Malinowski jumps guard and drags Diaz to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Malinowski wants to sweep here but Diaz controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diaz trying to move into half guard but instead Malinowski has managed to sweep! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Diaz can do anything to dispel that myth. Malinowski trying to control the position from guard on top but Diaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Diaz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Both fighters circling a little - Diaz finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Diaz gets a takedown into half guard. Malinowski is trying to maintain the position but Diaz is very close to passing his half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Malinowski has managed to free his arm - good work. Diaz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Diaz missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Malinowski has one foot on Diaz's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Diaz moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Carlos Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Matheus Malinowski's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Diaz lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Malinowski is looking to clinch. Malinowski tries to clinch up but Diaz circles away and keeps his distance. Malinowski is looking to clinch. Malinowski darts in trying to clinch and Diaz counters with a stiff right hand. Diaz swats away the attempt to clinch by Malinowski. Diaz looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Diaz is looking to clinch. Malinowski tries to close the distance and clinch but Diaz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Malinowski shoots in for a double leg but Diaz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Malinowski is rocked! Diaz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Oh Malinowski is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Malinowski avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Malinowski seems to have got his legs back now. Malinowski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Diaz controls the pace. Diaz trying to stand up but can't free himself from Malinowski's guard. Diaz with a nice head shot there. Malinowski keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Carlos Diaz. Diaz pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Diaz looks for a takedown but Malinowski sprawls well. Diaz throws a head kick that misses. Diaz moves into the clinch successfully.
Diaz jumps guard but Malinowski stands there with Diaz around his waist. Diaz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Matheus Malinowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Diaz. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Malinowski has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Diaz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Matheus Malinowski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Carlos Diaz is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Malinowski missing with knees to the body.
