Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Clarkson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trovador Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trovador Ramos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Clarkson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Trovador Ramos!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramos shoots in looking for a takedown. Clarkson tries to sprawl out of it but Ramos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Clarkson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ramos swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Clarkson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ramos won't be happy with that.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ramos is trying to escape the position but Clarkson is controlling the position.

Clarkson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Ramos throws a right hand that Clarkson ducks under and follows up with a left that Clarkson also avoids with ease.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Clarkson holds on and takes a little breather.

Ramos is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Ramos postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Clarkson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ramos, into his guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Ryan Clarkson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Ramos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ramos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Clarkson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ramos somewhat.
Ramos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ryan Clarkson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trovador Ramos.
Ramos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Horrible takedown by Clarkson or perhaps it was just good defense by Ramos which made him look bad.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Clarkson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
