The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas avoids the body shot from Janek.
Janek uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Thomas.
Thomas connects with a good right hand that stumbles Janek. Janek circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Thomas wants to clinch up but Janek keeps it at a distance.
Thomas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Thomas checks a leg kick.
Thomas lands a glancing blow to the side of Janek's head.
Janek keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Janek throws a left and a right that both miss
and Thomas finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
A low kick from Janek is predictable there
and Thomas counters with a crisp one two that drops Janek! Thomas thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Janek to his feet! Janek is in big trouble!
Janek is rocked!

Janek is trying hard to land a takedown here. Thomas sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Janek is still on wobbly legs! Can Thomas finish him?
Janek shoots in looking for a takedown. Thomas tries to sprawl out of it but Janek keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thomas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Janek seems to have recovered his senses.
Thomas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Janek.
Gage Thomas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Janek dives in and grabs Thomas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thomas pushes down on Janek's head and hops out.
Gage Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Janek.
Janek uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Thomas.
Thomas throws a right and a left that Janek avoids nicely.
Janek throws a leg kick but Thomas moved away.
Thomas stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Thomas just misses with a punch to the body.
Thomas stuffs the takedown attempt from Janek. Janek gets slowly back to his feet.
Janek tries a low kick but Thomas avoids it.
Janek fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Janek uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thomas.
Janek throws a leg kick but Thomas sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Janek is trying desperately to land a takedown but Thomas is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Janek.

A bone on bone clash there as Thomas blocks the leg kick.
Thomas looks to land a left hand but Janek moved out of range nicely.
Thomas lands a nice shot to the body.
Janek misses with a low kick as Thomas jumps back.
Decent striking displayed by Thomas there.
Thomas lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Janek scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Thomas doesn't seem bothered though.
Janek moves away from the strike by Thomas.

Thomas fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Janek has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Thomas counters with a head kick that drops Janek to the mat! Janek scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Thomas. That's going to slow Janek down.
Janek looks gassed!
Thomas closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Janek! Thomas dives in looking to finish! Janek is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gage Thomas!
