Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Archer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Sisphar!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sisphar shoots in but Archer avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A head kick misses from Sisphar.
Archer keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Archer drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sisphar is working to avoid the ground and pound but Archer connects with a decent elbow.
Archer is working to tighten is grip on Sisphar's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Sisphar has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Archer is really squeezing tight and eventually Sisphar passes out! Archer breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Aaron Archer!
After the fight, Aaron Archer was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
