Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pzuu Ko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mya Gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pzuu Ko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mya Gold!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ko misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gold tries to clinch there but Ko circles away.
Gold misses with an uppercut.

Ko has managed to clinch.
Ko wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ko tries to pull guard but Gold holds him up against the cage and eventually Ko drops back down to his feet.
Gold lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Pzuu Ko has been cut.
Gold creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Ko's defenses.
Ko can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pzuu Ko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ko pulls guard effortlessly.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Ko keeping moving, preventing Gold from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ko has his foot on Gold's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gold works his way back into a safe position though.
Gold trying to control the position from guard on top but Ko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gold trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gold won't allow Ko to sweep him here.

Gold drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ko looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ko looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ko!
Gold regains half guard.
Gold gets full guard.
Gold looking for a sweep. Not yet Gold, not yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gold is on top in guard.
Gold trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gold trying to control the position from guard on top but Ko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gold wants to pass the guard but Ko is keeping the position.
Ko has Gold pulled in close to control his posture.
Ko wants to stand and escape but Gold is having none of it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gold defends it easily.
Ko is breathing heavily.

Gold thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gold stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gold is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gold trying to control the position from guard on top but Ko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gold advances position into side control!

Gold wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ko, who protects the arm well.

Gold has hold of Ko's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Ko seems comfortable defending it but Gold has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Ko is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Ko is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gold couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mya Gold!
