Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vitali Popov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monkey Luffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Popov comes into the arena with Tupac - Last Muthafucka Breathin' blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Popov fails with the takedown
and Luffy counters with a nice low kick that buckles Popov's knee momentarily.
Popov has his takedown stuffed
and Luffy counters with a good low kick that Popov was not able to check.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Popov.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Luffy wants to get back to his feet.
Popov tries for a kimura but Luffy is defending well.
Luffy is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Popov asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Popov has hold of Luffy's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Luffy seems comfortable defending it but Popov has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Luffy is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Luffy is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Popov couldn't care less - he's delighted!
