Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricardo Alemaieda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rollo Smek!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alemaieda scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Alemaieda is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Smek is trying to get back to his feet.
Alemaieda thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Let's hope that Smek has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

No joy there for Alemaieda, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Alemaieda is pulling down on Smek's head. It's preventing any offense from Smek, at least for the moment.
Smek drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smek jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Alemaieda takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Smek is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alemaieda is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Alemaieda tries to bench press Smek off him but Smek keeps the position.

and Smek counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I would just about give that final round to Rollo Smek.
