Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Dodson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, BJ Ferguson!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dodson fails with the takedown.
Ferguson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Ferguson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ferguson leaves Dodson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ferguson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Dodson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ferguson throws a left and a right that both miss

so Dodson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Dodson wants to control from the top but Ferguson keeps moving.
Dodson works over Ferguson with some ground and pound from guard.

Dodson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ferguson, up you get!

Ferguson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Dodson is trying to control the position but Ferguson postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dodson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

John Dodson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Dodson lands with a straight right. Ferguson didn't see that one coming.
Ferguson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dodson keeps the fight on the outside.

Ferguson throws a combination that misses
and Dodson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Dodson fails with a takedown attempt.
Dodson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ferguson as he jumps to the side.

Ferguson shoots in and gets a takedown into Dodson's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dodson wants to sweep here but Ferguson controlling him for the moment.

Let's hope that Ferguson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. BJ Ferguson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dodson moves in looking to clinch but Ferguson pushes him off.
Dodson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Ferguson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dodson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ferguson but Ferguson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ferguson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Dodson clinches.
Ferguson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dodson has him pressed against the cage.
Ferguson is trying to pull guard but Dodson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Dodson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Dodson wants to control from the top but Ferguson keeps moving.
Dodson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ferguson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Dodson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Dodson rushes Ferguson and presses him up against the cage.
Ferguson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Dodson after a bit of a struggle.
Dodson tries to break free but Ferguson pushes him back against the cage.

Dodson throws his legs up looking for a submission but Ferguson uses it to pass to side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dodson throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Dodson tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Dodson just trying to survive but Ferguson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Ferguson is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Dodson wants to escape the position.

Ferguson is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Dodson is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). BJ Ferguson!
In his post fight interview, BJ Ferguson gave a big smile as he said 'I hope the owner watched this fight and how good i did. being 3-1 now i want him to no i will be bantamweight champion! Tim Duncan you got the best of me before. You are a very great fighter man. We will meet again. Thank u everyone '.
