Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damian Nitschke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Damian Nitschke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christian dos Santos! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! dos Santos shoots in looking for a takedown. Nitschke tries to sprawl out of it but dos Santos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Nitschke manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nitschke circles away from the clinch attempt.
dos Santos tries to close the distance and clinch but Nitschke swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. dos Santos moves out of range of the strikes. Nitschke drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Nitschke postures up.
Nitschke slips nicely into half guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Nitschke throwing shots but dos Santos is blocking nicely. Nitschke passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for dos Santos! dos Santos is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

It looks like Christian dos Santos has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! dos Santos tries to lock up and control but Nitschke gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. dos Santos is in all sorts of trouble here.
Nitschke content just to control the position here. dos Santos is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nitschke looking to control but dos Santos is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Nitschke is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But dos Santos has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from dos Santos! dos Santos trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Nitschke has his foot on dos Santos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. dos Santos works his way back into a safe position though. dos Santos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Nitschke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nitschke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. dos Santos wanted to stand there but Nitschke had control of the position. Nitschke keeping moving, preventing dos Santos from controlling successfully. Nitschke working for a triangle but dos Santos defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. dos Santos throws an elbow that misses. Nitschke uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in dos Santos's guard. Nice move by Nitschke! Nitschke trying to control the position from guard on top but dos Santos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nitschke thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. dos Santos is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nitschke trying to control but dos Santos is working from the bottom. dos Santos is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nitschke is aware though and is defending well. dos Santos trying to control the position.
dos Santos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nitschke doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nitschke manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Nitschke passes into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nitschke wants to lay and pray for a moment but dos Santos keeps working. Nitschke passes to side control. dos Santos is looking for a sweep. Nitschke remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Nitschke working away. Nitschke moves into full mount! Nitschke looking to ground and pound but dos Santos is blocking nicely. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Nitschke scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish dos Santos?

Christian dos Santos's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Christian dos Santos's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
