Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fudo Hokoyashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikey Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fudo Hokoyashi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mikey Morris! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morris rushes Hokoyashi and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Morris blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Hokoyashi tries to land a knee to the head but Morris blocks with his arms.
Hokoyashi looking for a takedown. Hokoyashi drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Morris gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Morris lands a takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Morris trying to control but Hokoyashi is working from the bottom. Morris lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Morris slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Morris postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morris won't allow Hokoyashi to sweep him here. Morris makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Morris looking to pass the guard. Morris engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Morris tries to free his leg and advance position but Hokoyashi is retaining full guard. Morris postures up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Morris fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morris stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morris wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fudo Hokoyashi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hokoyashi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Hokoyashi fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hokoyashi tries to clinch up. Hokoyashi fails with the takedown and Morris counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hokoyashi's guard now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Morris controlling from the top position. Hokoyashi wants to sweep but no luck. Morris trying to control the position from guard on top but Hokoyashi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Mikey Morris hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Morris throws a sloppy head kick and Hokoyashi counters with a head kick. Hokoyashi with a lazy takedown attempt and Morris counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Morris. Hokoyashi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Morris is stalling in the full guard. Hokoyashi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Morris throwing strikes but missing. Morris stands up and waves to Hokoyashi to follow him. Morris avoids the head kick by Hokoyashi.
Morris gets a double leg takedown into Hokoyashi's guard. Morris trying to control but Hokoyashi is working from the bottom.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Morris decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Morris rushes Hokoyashi and presses him up against the ropes. Hokoyashi keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Morris's efforts to push away. Hokoyashi with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hokoyashi. Hokoyashi tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Hokoyashi tries to pull guard but Morris forces him back to his feet, against the ropes. Morris manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Hokoyashi throws a big elbow that misses. Hokoyashi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Morris utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hokoyashi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Morris working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hokoyashi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hokoyashi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Morris has momentary wrist control but Hokoyashi slips an elbow through the middle. Hokoyashi throws a big elbow that misses. This has been an exciting period of action! Morris utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hokoyashi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Hokoyashi throws a strike but Morris rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Morris pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hokoyashi is keeping the position for now. Hokoyashi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Morris looking to sit in guard and control but Hokoyashi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hokoyashi throws an elbow that misses. Morris uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hokoyashi's guard. Nice move by Morris! Morris trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Morris trying to control but Hokoyashi is working from the bottom.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Hokoyashi trying to keep a closed guard but Morris is proving a slippery customer.
Hokoyashi wants to stand up but Morris is controlling him. Morris throws a big right hand that misses. Morris trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Morris wants to control from the top but Hokoyashi keeps moving. Hokoyashi trying to keep a closed guard but Morris is proving a slippery customer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Morris sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Hokoyashi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Morris slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. It looks like Morris might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Hokoyashi looking to control.

Mikey Morris dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Morris wants to clinch up but Hokoyashi keeps it at a distance. Hokoyashi tries to clinch up and Morris counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hokoyashi's guard now. Morris trying to control the position from guard on top but Hokoyashi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Morris sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hokoyashi's guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Hokoyashi is looking to control Morris's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hokoyashi avoid being mounted? Hokoyashi pushes Morris off looking to stand but Morris dives back in and keeps control.
Morris takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Morris decides to stand up. Morris stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morris wants it to stay on the feet. Morris moves into the clinch successfully.

Fudo Hokoyashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hokoyashi throws a sloppy head kick and Morris moves out of range easily. Morris doesn't manage to clinch there - Hokoyashi circles away.
Hokoyashi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hokoyashi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

A punch combination from Morris misses. A head kick from Hokoyashi lands but Morris takes it in his stride. Hokoyashi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hokoyashi doesn't succeed with the takedown and Morris counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fudo Hokoyashi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Morris stands up. Morris gets in close and instigates a clinch. Morris jumps guard.

Morris pulls Hokoyashi in close to prevent any damage. Hokoyashi with a flurry of punches that miss. Hokoyashi throwing strikes but missing. Hokoyashi throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hokoyashi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Morris has his hands on Hokoyashi's head, controlling the position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Morris working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hokoyashi.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morris is pulling down on Hokoyashi's head to control his posture.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Mikey Morris hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Hokoyashi moves in looking to clinch but Morris pushes him off. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Morris jumps into side control! Morris controls the position. Morris is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hokoyashi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hokoyashi sneaks back into half guard.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Hokoyashi is pressing down on Morris's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Hokoyashi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Morris slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Hokoyashi keeping moving, preventing Morris from controlling successfully.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Hokoyashi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Morris pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hokoyashi is keeping the position for now.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mikey Morris wasn't active enough on the ground. Hokoyashi misses with a takedown attempt and Morris counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hokoyashi! Hokoyashi holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Morris tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Morris is in the full mount, landing strikes.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Morris controlling his opponent. Mikey Morris has got the better of the ground game so far. Morris misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Morris working for a guillotine from mount but Hokoyashi is in no mood to give up. Morris stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Hokoyashi throws a nice inside leg kick. Fudo Hokoyashi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Morris throws a series of punches but Hokoyashi moves out of range. Morris throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hokoyashi was covering up waiting for the punch and Morris finishes the takedown easily into guard. Morris is breathing heavily. Hokoyashi is working an open guard so Morris takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Hokoyashi is looking to clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hokoyashi darts in trying to clinch and Morris holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Mikey Morris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Morris has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
