Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Martin Bryant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Mak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bryant comes into the arena with Killing in the name blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Martin Bryant! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Freddy Mak! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mak tests Bryant's chin there with a solid looking shot. Mak checks the leg kick. A big left from Bryant misses. Bryant misses with a body shot.
Mak moves into range and connects with a jab. Bryant misses the shot to the body. Bryant misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Mak cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bryant lands a nice shot to the body.
Bryant tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bryant misses with an uppercut. Mak saw that one coming. Mak connects with a single shot there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bryant fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Nice defenses there by Mak. Martin Bryant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick misses from Bryant. Mak scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Mak lands with a punch from half guard. Bryant is pressing down on Mak's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Mak scoring with some ground and pound. Bryant working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mak. Nice work. This has been an exciting period of action! Mak is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Mak thows a huge punch but Bryant dodges it nicely.

Bryant misses with an uppercut. Mak fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Bryant.
Bryant is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mak sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Mak shoots in for a takedown but Bryant shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bryant avoids the body shot from Mak.
Nice sprawl there from Mak as Bryant shoots in. Bryant works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. A nice inside leg kick there by Bryant. That's going to slow Mak down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bryant fails in his attempt to clinch. Mak fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bryant manages to avoid it. Mak looks for a takedown but Bryant sprawls well. Martin Bryant has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Mak. Bryant throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Mak stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mak wants it to stay on the feet. Bryant thows a left - swing and a miss! Mak stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bryant. Mak shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bryant as he jumps to the side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bryant finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Bryant is looking to slow Mak down with leg kicks. Mak shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bryant counters by moving into the clinch. Bryant misses with a body punch.
Mak wants to take the fight to the mat but Bryant manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Bryant manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Mak has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bryant avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Mak has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bryant is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mak wants to take the fight to the mat but Bryant manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Bryant is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Mak's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Come on Bryant - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Bryant lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Bryant tries to work over Mak's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Mak blocks a body shot from Bryant. Mak drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bryant pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mak looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Bryant is looking to slow Mak down with leg kicks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A slapping leg kick lands for Bryant.
Bryant with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Bryant throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mak's waist but Mak gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bryant off to one side. A momentary lapse in concentration from Bryant enables Mak to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bryant manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Mak preventing the sweep. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mak in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Bryant manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mak manages to get himself to full guard.

Bryant has a takedown stuffed. Bryant turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Bryant lands a lovely overhand right. Bryant scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mak doesn't seem bothered though. Bryant swings for the body but Mak moves out of range.
Bryant throws a leg kick which misses Mak's front leg but catches the back leg as Mak tries to avoid it. Mak shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bryant counters with a leg kick. Mak's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bryant fails with a takedown attempt. Mak checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Mak fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bryant on the side of the head. Mak decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Mak winds up and cracks Bryant with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Mak lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Mak missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mak throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Mak not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Mak lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Bryant works his way to full guard. Good work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bryant tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mak trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Freddy Mak has got the better of the ground game so far. Mak is in close to Bryant's body, working some short punches and elbows. Mak slips nicely into half guard. Bryant is pressing down on Mak's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Mak advances to half guard. Bryant is trying to maintain the position but Mak is very close to passing his half guard.

Bryant blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mak. Mak not landing any meaningful shots this time. Mak throwing shots but Bryant is blocking nicely. Bryant has hold of Mak's hands but Mak slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Mak throwing shots but Bryant is blocking nicely. Mak is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bryant sees it coming and defends easily. Mak takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Bryant regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Mak. Bryant working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mak.

Mak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bryant swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bryant bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mak's guard. Mak is looking to sweep but instead, Bryant has passed into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bryant throwing shots but Mak is blocking nicely. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bryant moves into full mount! Mak won't be happy about that! Mak really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Mak shoots for a double leg takedown but Bryant sprawls well. He's pushed Mak's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mak gets tackled into the cage by Bryant. Bryant maintains the clinch. Bryant lands a nice uppercut. Bryant scores with a shot to the side of Mak's head. Bryant stalls. Bryant is defending well against a takedown attempt. Mak wants a takedown.
Martin Bryant has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Mak. Bryant tries to throw a body punch but Mak avoids it by throwing Bryant back against the cage. Mak fails to pull guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Bryant. A right hook to the body lands for Bryant.
Mak is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Mak goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bryant prevents it.
Mak has Bryant pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bryant manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. A right hook to the body lands for Bryant.
Bryant will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Mak up against the cage. Mak has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bryant is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. A shot in the inside from Bryant. Mak is looking to take this one to the mat. Bryant lands with a short shot to the head. Bryant lands a right hand. Bryant lands with a short head shot on the inside. Bryant stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Martin Bryant has scored more points in the clinch so far. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mak is trying to drag Bryant to the mat but Bryant just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. A right handed body shot lands from Bryant.
Bryant gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Mak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bryant postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Bryant controlling from the top position. Bryant avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bryant content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Mak is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bryant defends well. Mak wants to improve his position but instead Bryant has moved into half guard.
Mak wants to get back to full guard. Bryant is trying for a kimura here. Mak looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Bryant wins by kimura!
