The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pepe throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Pepe moves out of range easily.
Jones moves into range and clinches up with Pepe.
Pepe is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Jones successfully pulls guard.
Pepe preventing the sweep.
Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Pepe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Pepe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pepe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones is posturing up here but Pepe has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Jones tries to roll out but it's too tight and Jones has to tap! Slick submission there by Pepe!
