Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Papa Smurf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Misual Lal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smurf's entrance music is Ante Up. A fine choice. Lal has chosen Rocky Theme Song as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smurf thows a body shot but no joy.
Lal moves into range and clinches up with Smurf.
A head punch on the inside from Smurf fails to land.
Lal manages to break the clinch.

Smurf lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lal backs up against the cage.

and Lal counters with a crisp one two that drops Smurf! Lal thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Smurf to his feet! Smurf is in big trouble!

Lal tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lal forces Smurf back against the cage and clinches.

Smurf is pressed up against the cage. Lal has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Smurf down to the mat. Smurf avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Lal shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smurf sprawls well. Smurf wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lal gets slowly back to his feet.
Smurf fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lal looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Smurf drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lal looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lal looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lal!
You can see the frustration on Smurf's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smurf will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

I would just about give that final round to Misual Lal.
