Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Marcos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitchell Lamzak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitchell Lamzak will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Marcos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mitchell Lamzak!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Marcos.
Lamzak misses with the combination.
Marcos wants to clinch up but Lamzak keeps it at a distance.
Lamzak looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Lamzak shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Marcos shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Marcos was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Marcos is working for a guillotine from mount but Lamzak frees his head quite easily.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Marcos cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Marcos seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lamzak for as long as he can get away with.
Lamzak is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Marcos tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marcos's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Lamzak is fighting off a takedown attempt but Marcos is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lamzak to the mat. Lamzak regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of David Marcos.

Marcos closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lamzak's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lamzak is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Marcos slips a jab and a cross from Lamzak.
Marcos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lamzak tries to avoid it but Marcos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lamzak to the ground. Lamzak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Marcos gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lamzak is trying to break free.
Lamzak wants to get back to striking at distance but Marcos won't allow it.

Lamzak pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Marcos tries to clinch but Lamzak moves out of range.

Marcos has Lamzak pushed against the cage.

Marcos goes for a takedown attempt but Lamzak pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Marcos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lamzak gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Marcos to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Lamzak swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Marcos counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lamzak won't be happy with that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Marcos remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Marcos decides to stand back up. Marcos steps back and let's Lamzak get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Marcos closes the distance and clinches up with Lamzak, looking for a takedown. Marcos pushes Lamzak against the cage but Lamzak circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Lamzak is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Lamzak takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mitchell Lamzak has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

We're going to have a standup here because David Marcos wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
