Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Krystof Wierzbicki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brandom Dare!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wierzbicki tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dare manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wierzbicki doesn't manage to clinch there - Dare circles away.
Dare shoots in for a double leg but Wierzbicki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dare shoots in but no luck this time.
Wierzbicki misses with a hook.
Dare moves into the clinch successfully.
Dare breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dare closes the distance and clinches up with Wierzbicki, looking for a takedown. Dare pushes Wierzbicki against the cage but Wierzbicki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Krystof Wierzbicki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brandom Dare.
Dare rushes Wierzbicki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Dare blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Dare breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wierzbicki could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dare fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Wierzbicki moves in looking to clinch but Dare pushes him off.
Wierzbicki connects with an inside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A chopping leg kick lands by Wierzbicki.
Dare looks gassed!
Wierzbicki cracks Dare with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Dare tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Wierzbicki pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Dare is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Krystof Wierzbicki!
