Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sentinel Prime! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Rosgen! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rosgen thumps Prime with a low kick. Prime lands with a thumping leg kick.
Prime misses with a low kick.
Prime looks to land a right hand but Rosgen moved out of range. A jab-cross combination lands for Rosgen and sends Prime crashing to the mat! Rosgen follows him down to the mat - Prime regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
It looks like Sentinel Prime has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Prime trying to control but Rosgen postures up.
Prime knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rosgen on the ground. Prime won't allow Rosgen to pass to mount. Rosgen not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rosgen working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Prime's thigh. Prime counters though and makes it back to full guard. Prime wants to sweep here but Rosgen controlling him for the moment. Rosgen wants to pass the guard but Prime is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rosgen stands up from guard. Let's bang! Rosgen stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Prime. Rosgen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rosgen slips under a jab. Rosgen fails in his attempt to clinch. Prime throws an overhand right that lands on Rosgen's shoulder, as Rosgen tries to avoid the shot. Rosgen misses with a double jab.
Greg Rosgen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rosgen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Prime utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Prime keeping moving, preventing Rosgen from controlling successfully. Rosgen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rosgen wants to pass the guard but Prime is keeping the position. Rosgen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Prime's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rosgen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Prime keeps working. Rosgen is taking a breather. Prime says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Rosgen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rosgen is thwarting Prime's attempts to control the position. Rosgen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Prime doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rosgen. Prime is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rosgen wants to control but Prime is keeping him busy. Rosgen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rosgen is nestled in close to Prime, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Rosgen missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Rosgen is just content to waste time from the top position. Prime takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Prime working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rosgen. Prime looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rosgen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prime swivels though and keeps the full guard. Prime is trying to control the position but Rosgen postures up. Rosgen tries to free his leg and advance position but Prime is retaining full guard. Rosgen throws a big right hand that misses. Rosgen looking to pass the guard. Rosgen passes Prime's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Prime is in trouble now - Rosgen has advanced to mount! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rosgen is landing with some decent strikes but Prime is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Rosgen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rosgen looking to finish with strikes here!

Greg Rosgen seems to be getting the better of the standup. Prime tries to move into range but Rosgen moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Prime jabs Rosgen to the body, keeping him at a distance. Rosgen tried to score with a low kick but Prime checks it. Nice takedown defense from Rosgen. No joy for Prime on that attempt. Prime throws out a leg kick but Rosgen moves out of range and Prime only half commits. Rosgen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Prime as he avoids it easily. Rosgen has managed to clinch.

Sentinel Prime has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Rosgen.

Rosgen misses with a short punch on the inside. Prime lands a body shot. Prime lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. A nice left hand lands by Prime.

Rosgen tries to score a body lock takedown but Prime shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Prime breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nice sprawl there from Prime as Rosgen shoots in. Prime connects with a leg kick. Rosgen looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Prime pivots, looking for a leg kick but Rosgen is out of range and Prime settles back down.

Rosgen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Prime plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Prime lands the left hand. Prime throws a leg kick but Rosgen sees it coming and moves out of range. Horrible takedown by Rosgen or perhaps it was just good defense by Prime which made him look bad. Rosgen shoots in looking for a takedown. Prime tries to sprawl out of it but Rosgen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Prime manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Greg Rosgen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. That's four minutes gone in the round. Prime tries to buck Rosgen off but Rosgen is having none of it. Rosgen working away. Rosgen postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee asks Rosgen politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rosgen prefers to stall for the moment though. Rosgen tries to score with some ground and pound. Prime controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The strikes coming from Rosgen are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Prime is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rosgen's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Prime on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Prime tries to get out of the position. Prime is refusing to be controlled, as Rosgen sits in half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Prime avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rosgen. Rosgen wants to free his trapped foot but Prime is holding on for dear life with his legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Prime misses with a hook. Rosgen slaps away a takedown attempt from Prime, before circling back to the center of the mat. Rosgen takes a swing at Prime's ribcage but misses. Rosgen misses with a body shot.

Prime throws a solid leg kick but Rosgen takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Prime. Prime misses with an uppercut. Prime cracks the inside of Rosgen's front leg. Rosgen tries to close the distance and clinch but Prime swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Prime swinging wildly here.
Rosgen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rosgen is looking to take a break and control but Prime is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Prime is working to avoid the ground and pound but Rosgen connects with a decent elbow. Rosgen working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. You can see the frustration on Prime's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Rosgen tries for a kimura but Prime is defending well. Rosgen sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Prime is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Rosgen just content to control the position. Prime tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rosgen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Rosgen connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Prime some visible discomfort.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Prime managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Rosgen.
Rosgen tries for a kimura but Prime is defending well. A lull in the action here as Rosgen stalls from top position. Rosgen misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Prime prevents Rosgen from moving into mount.

Rosgen advances to full mount. Rosgen lands a heavy elbow. This has been an exciting period of action! Rosgen misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Rosgen lands a big shot there that rocks Prime but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

A big strike lands for Rosgen! That's really hurt Prime and he's turned his back - Rosgen keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Rosgen jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Greg Rosgen! Greg Rosgen really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Global Nutritional ACME (Q157) 90% ROR on Laundry logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
