Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ian McPherson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Audet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Audet is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Will.I.Am - T.H.E.. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ian McPherson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Audet! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McPherson swats away the attempt to clinch by Audet. Audet tries to close the distance and clinch but McPherson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. McPherson lands with a good body shot. McPherson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Audet tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McPherson paws at him with a jab and circles away. McPherson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Audet backwards. Audet's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Audet lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

McPherson tries to advance to mount but Audet instead regains half guard. McPherson lands strikes from half guard. Audet keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McPherson is pressing down on Audet's thigh, looking to free his foot. Audet is holding on for now. McPherson lands with a punch from half guard. Audet moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Audet doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Audet throws a low kick but McPherson moves out of range easily. Audet throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Audet misses with a head kick.
Audet is looking to clinch. McPherson lands a jab-cross combination. McPherson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Audet to score an easy takedown into full guard. Audet keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McPherson's head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McPherson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Audet! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Audet is trying desperately to improve position. McPherson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Audet turns into him and now he's in McPherson's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. McPherson keeping full guard, as Audet tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McPherson looking to control.
Audet wants to pass the guard but McPherson is keeping the position. McPherson keeping moving, preventing Audet from controlling successfully. McPherson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. McPherson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Audet is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McPherson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Audet defends it easily. Audet postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Audet trying to control but McPherson is working from the bottom. Audet landing with the ground and pound. McPherson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Audet is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Audet stopping the sweep attempt from McPherson. Audet trying to control but McPherson is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Audet makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Audet postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Audet has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Audet postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! McPherson covers up, he's hurt! Audet keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Audet and the ref steps in to end the fight! Audet can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
