Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicho King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nicho King! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for King on that attempt. Jones closes the distance and clinches up with King, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes King against the cage but King circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. King is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jones shoots in looking for a takedown but King manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jones's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Jones lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but King was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones. King will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. King displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones misses with a left hand and King counters with a head kick. King misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Horrible takedown by King or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad. Nice uppercut there from Jones. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones leaves King with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

King shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. King fails with a takedown attempt from distance. King misses with a jab, cross combination.
King is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. King looks gassed! King leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with King but King pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jones shoots in for a double leg but King sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jones displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Nice sprawl there from Jones as King shoots in. Jones misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. King on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

King tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Nice takedown defense from King. No joy for Jones on that attempt. King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says King as he avoids it easily. King moves into the clinch. King has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. A short right from Jones on the inside. King blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. King trying to control the position but instead, Jones has worked for underhooks and has pushed King into the cage. Jones lands a knee to the body.
Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from King. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet. Jones circles away from the clinch attempt and Jones counters with a series of strikes. King will be more careful next time no doubt. Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but King sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jones throws a leg kick which misses King's front leg but catches the back leg as King tries to avoid it. King moves to clinch but Jones breaks away and Jones counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. King avoids the body shot from Jones.

Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but King avoids it really well and circles away. King staying out of range there. King shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for King on that attempt. Jones misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jones chopping away at his opponent's legs.

John Jones dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from King is defended easily by Jones. Jones pushes King away with a front kick. Jones looks for the body kick but King saw that one coming. Jones lands with a nice combination. King backs away looking to recover. Jones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. King looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. King stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. King dives in and grabs Jones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes down on King's head and hops out. King is breathing heavily. Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Nicho King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones shoots for a takedown but King saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by King. John Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jones is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing. John Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicho King. A swing and a miss from King. Both fighters are breathing heavily. King on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around King's waist but King gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side. King takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

King blocks an elbow strike. King is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Jones lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of King backwards. Jones presses King against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Jones misses with an elbow strike.
King is trying desperately to land a takedown but Jones is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for King. Jones landing knees to the body.
King goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
King jumps guard but Jones stands there with King around his waist. King gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. King takes an elbow to the temple. King wants to break free but Jones has control.
King is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jones to keep the fight standing. King throws a head punch that misses. Jones throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Jones using the Thai plumb to throw knees but King has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Jones scores with a shoulder strike. With the fighters up against the cage, Jones throws an elbow but misses. King drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones lands on the inside with an uppercut.
And that's the end of the fight! John Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
