The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tirolesa slaps away a takedown attempt from Nurjas, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nurjas avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nurjas misses with a series of wild punches.
Nurjas scores with a nice right hand.
Nurjas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nurjas wants it to stay on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Nurjas or perhaps it was just good defense by Tirolesa which made him look bad.
Nurjas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mike Tirolesa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nurjan Nurjas.

and Nurjas counters with a series of strikes. Tirolesa will be more careful next time no doubt.
Tirolesa shoots in for a double leg but Nurjas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nurjas scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Tirolesa shoots for a takedown but Nurjas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Tirolesa has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Tirolesa shoots in for a takedown but Nurjas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Tirolesa is breathing heavily.

Nurjas pushes Tirolesa up against the cage in a clinch.

Nurjas gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Tirolesa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nurjas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Tirolesa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nurjas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tirolesa looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Nurjas is defending well. Tirolesa quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Nurjas has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Tirolesa celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
