Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dishaun Ringle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Kolor! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ringle misses with a takedown attempt - Kolor sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ringle closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ringle lands in his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Ringle slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Kolor. Ringle is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ringle stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kolor to get to his feet. Kolor dives in and grabs Ringle's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ringle pushes down on Kolor's head and hops out. Jab, jab by Kolor - just one landing. Ringle has his takedown stuffed and Kolor counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ringle misses with a takedown attempt and Kolor counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ringle's guard now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dishaun Ringle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ringle is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kolor advances to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kolor is working for a kimura but Ringle is defending it quite comfortably.
Ringle is not content to let Kolor control the position. Kolor is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kolor is keen to just control but Ringle is a slippery customer. Kolor is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kolor is working for a kimura but Ringle is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ringle tries to get to full guard but Kolor has control of the leg. Ringle avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kolor. Kolor is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ringle is just riding it out for now. Kolor eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ringle wants to control but Kolor is keeping busy.
Ringle wants to improve his position but Kolor is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ringle trying to hold on to Kolor's head to control him but Kolor postures up.
Kolor wants to take a breather but Ringle is having none of it. Kolor is trying to work for a kimura but Ringle is defending well.
Kolor is looking to take a break and control but Ringle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kolor tries to stand and escape but Ringle is controlling the position. Kolor decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Kolor closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ringle is trying to get back to full guard. Ringle is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kolor pulls his head out easily. Ringle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ringle looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kolor is trying for a kimura here. Ringle looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Kolor wins by kimura!
